IQ and Politics and Cartograms

american the warped

Since I do not really have any original content here, I decided to reiterate what Al posted on his other site. Basically there is this site out there that has all these visual represenations of how people voted. And in turn you find out how the media over-simplified the process, at least in the representations.

Like Al sort of said too, population cartograms are this bizarre mix of science and art which yield some very cool pictures.

I also found a site that correlated average IQs by state and who the state went to in the electoral college. It’s moderately interesting, however I am not sure how seriously this site should be taken. That and since DC isn’t included (obviously, as it’s not a state), I don’t really care about it.
