What a freaking weekend. Friday night Emily and I trekked out to Germantown to hit up WalMart. Perhaps there is a reason there is no WalMart in DC. What a bastion of waste Germantown is. Who would ever want to live out there? Sorry Brian, I dont know how you do it?! But, we went to the WalMart to get some bikes. It was drive by WalMart. And it ended up just being so goddam frustrating as the bikes were all falling apart. So we got some pussy cat fun stuff, fritos and a coke (which made me mad ill) and got the fuck out of there. Lesson learned: Dont ever go back to Germantown. Do yourself a favor.
So Saturday morning I dropped by the parents house to clean up my old closet a bit. I basically threw away about 75 video tapes. There are only so man sci-fi and the Who documentaries one man can own. I was there primarily to get my parents cable modem installed for Dad’s birthday. They were supposed to come between 11am and 2pm. I called around 1pm and Comcast didnt even have us in in their system. They are completely incompetant. So in the end of the fiasco on the phone with those morons we got a better rate and they are coming next week. Or else we’re getting Starpower. They actually show up and play with your cats! Amazing. I was pretty fucking pissed. But whatever. I did get to hang with the parents and talk “garden” with them for a bit. And they gave us a soaker hose!
Then it was off to REI with Emily to get some real bikes for not much more than the shitty WalMart bikes. If you could call them that. We talked with the sales duder for a bit. Those REI people know damn near everything. Emily really enjoyed herself while he was fitting her up. The dude was cool and knew everything about bikes, but good looking? Hmmm. Fuzzy he was. Goddam I love REI. And then we got helmets and various other bike sundries. Then we got back to the house a little late. The Silver Sessions had scheduled practice after that, but I was really late. Daniel had left. I was hoping he would be more mad, but of course he didnt appear too mad. Regardless, that man needs a cell phone more than life so that problem could have avoided. That or just give him a key. Key is coming my prompt friend. But get a goddam cell phone you pansy.
Then on Saturday night we had dinner at the parent’s house for the Dad’s birthday. Lith and Scott were there. We didnt have just chicken. We had steak and chicken. Amazing. My whole family trips me up. Good times and killer good food.
Sunday was the Silver Sessions mania. We practiced until the power went out from the storm. We played a show at UMD’s radio station and then got ourselves another show next week in DC. People asking us to play is a good way to get shows. Daniel was flipping through the copius amounts of 12″s they had there in the studio and found a killer Yngwie Malmsteen record. Like there is a bad one. Then we made them interrupt their indie rock mope for some Yngwie. My god. See you next week at our show. Maybe Yngwie will show up.
i don’t know why they do that.
Oh yeah, and I think I am now a legit Power BF. Emily now has her own talk show syndicated on WBIG, DC101 and Hot995 on Sunday mornings. Fucking ay. Revolution. She’s gonna rock it up.
And tonight we’re meeting Maria/Bill in DC for her birthday party. I think there will be a group. Prolly the standard Maria/Bill/Sputnik crew.
i’m telling you he was hot… H-O-T!
i still think he was pretty modest looking
if you were on time…..i wouldn’t need a cell phone. you prick.
