Ok. History. It’s time to be proud to be an American again. I sure am.
So I am excited beyond all means that change is coming. Maybe not as drastic as many people believe. But the bottom line is that Bush Jr.’s regime is over. Which means something new is coming. And I am down with that. Not to mention his crew speaks to our generation. Could you imagine Shakira at Bush’s inauguration ball?
I felt like a huge weight was lifted from my shoulders just thinking about George and Laura packing their bags last night.
Oh and did anyone else see Beyoncé rip up some Etta James? It was awesome. And gave new meaning to the song.
But on a more serious note:
TOMORROW. LOST. OMIGOD!
So we’re spending about $341 million a day on this horrid unnecessary lost war.
If we stopped funding it for about 146 days. Every American could have health care for a year based on Obama’s health care plan. He decided to just tax the rich. Now that’s something I can get behind.
And to think this is sort of how our school system and libraries got their start. Ooooh scary! Socialism. It’s bad. BAD! But kinda good.
I had to share something with you. Can you imagine living in a place where birth control is considered an “abortion” and health insurers won’t cover it? Where even rape victims are denied emergency contraception?
It seems unbelievable, but the Bush Administration is quietly trying to redefine “abortion” to include birth control. The Houston Chronicle says this could wipe out dozens of state laws that protect women’s reproductive freedom and protect rape victims. And this proposed “rule change” doesn’t need congressional approval.
I just signed a message to Health and Human Services Secretary Mike Leavitt, whose department is considering this rule change, telling him: “Contraception is NOT abortion.” Can you add your voice to this cause?
